DIY Calendar Photo Clipboard

Checkout my homemade special Christmas gift for my partner, Claire. It was fun to create this gorgeous DIY Calendar Photo Clipboard!johnny corcoran wedding photography life style dublin_0015

This idea came when I was looking for photo frames. I wanted something different but couldn’t get what I wanted in shops. I first picked up a 5 foot board from B&Q for €12.95 and the kind staff in B&Q cut it into four 11×9″ pieces.johnny corcoran wedding photography life style dublin_0024

I also picked up some Wood Varnish which cost me €4.99 in B&Q.johnny corcoran wedding photography life style dublin_0025

Then I ordered mini office clips from mydiyday for €5.95johnny corcoran wedding photography life style dublin_0026

Now onto my project, I wanted the boards to look old and rustic, so I sanded down the edges and corners with my hand sander to make them look aged and to provide a base for the Wood Varnish. Applied the varnish three times to make it look classy and when it was dry, I attached two mini office clips using two small screws. (I used the 10×8″ plain paper to make sure everything was in the right place so I could place the clips in the right place)

Once the board was done, I bought the calendar dates/months off the etsy website for €6.95 then did up a design to put my 12 photos on each month. Once all the design was ready to go I printed to my “normal” printer onto “water colour paper”.  I then used a ruler to tear the paper at the edges, using my hand to make it look rough.johnny corcoran wedding photography life style dublin_0021

Finally, the calendar was ready to go onto the boardjohnny corcoran wedding photography life style dublin_0016

WHAT'S THIS ELEPHANT AND ONE SHOE ARE ABOUT?

“Elephant Shoe” is a phrase I have always loved because when you lip read someone saying this you see “I love you” while it is unlikely that you would use the phrase “elephant shoe” in a real conversation it does highlight that sometimes things do get lost in translation.

Elephant Shoe is a cute fun way of saying “I love you” try it out today without using your voice!
